Corporate Security Specialist

Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) transports natural gas from the giant Shah Deniz field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea to Europe. The 878 km long pipeline connects with the Trans Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) at the Turkish-Greek border in Kipoi, crosses Greece and Albania and the Adriatic Sea, before coming ashore in Southern Italy.

TAP will facilitate gas supplies to South Eastern European countries through prospective interconnectors. TAP is connected to Interconnector Greece Bulgaria (IGB) which started its commercial operations in October 2022, providing Caspian gas to Bulgaria, enhancing security of energy supplies in one more European country. TAP’s exits in Greece and Albania, together with the landfall in Italy provide multiple opportunities for further transport of gas from Azerbaijan to the wider European markets.

As a key part of the Southern Gas Corridor, TAP is strategically and economically important to Europe and essential in providing reliable access to a new source of natural gas. TAP plays a significant role in boosting Europe’s energy security, supply diversification, as well as its decarbonisation objectives.

Your Role

As TAP’s Corporate Security Specialist (CSS), you will report to the Senior Security Manager (SSM). The role is mainly based in Athens, Greece, and will require limited travels to other TAP locations. This role could also be performed out of a remote location (EU).

Your Responsibilities

• Coordinate security control room teams, including effectively triaging technical alarms and alerts and assessing and handling security incidents;
• Continually assess the security situation as it applies to TAP’s activities and core business, including conducting intelligence investigations and providing structured intelligence risk analysis;
• Conduct in the field security assessments according to audit and inspection plans, including inspecting the facility installation of security technology (e.g. access controls, CCTV, intrusion detection, lighting, security barriers) and providing mitigation measures according to most updated international standard and best practice;
• Advise on international security threats trends and developments, including briefing top management during ad hoc missions and train internal staff and external parties on security related subjects;
• Redact periodic and ad hoc notes, reports and manuals, including implementing and updating security incident registers, lessons learned register, and supporting the organization, maintenance and update of UNI ISO security standard policies and procedures,

Your profile

• University degree (MSc) in job relevant subjects including Criminology, Security studies, Criminal Justice & Law Enforcement, Homeland Security, Computer Science, Intelligence
• Professional security certification e.g. Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) preferred
• Strong professional experience in complex organizations and multi-cultural working environments
• Strong professional experience in managerial roles, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry and / or Security Operation Centres
• In-depth knowledge of OSINT intelligence methodologies, physical security site assessments processes, corporate security risk assessment and management, physical security systems physical security policies and procedures
• Excellent synthesis and presenting competence; excellent communication, negotiation and persuasion skills.
• Driven, organised, disciplined and task oriented – delivers results
• Proven ability to work both independently, part of a team and/or to play a leadership role on projects or assignments
• Proven ability to solve complex problems, ability to work concurrently on multiple, moderately complex tasks that may require some definition
• Proactivity in issues identification
• Fluency in English (both written and spoken) required and knowledge of another TAP language preferred
