The Role in a Nutshell

On behalf of our client, an innovative start-up in the F&B sector, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Platform Tooling Engineer. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in managing, automating and optimizing an Azure-based infrastructure, ensuring secure, efficient and scalable solutions for their development teams.

Your Day-to-Day

Azure Governance and Role Management

• Implement and enforce the principle of least privilege by assigning roles and permissions securely and efficiently.
• Organize users into logical groups to streamline role and permission management.
• Apply best practices for governance and security while maintaining ISO-27001 compliance standards.

Network Architecture and Security

• Design and implement secure network topologies using VLANs, VNets, NSGs, and ASGs.
• Restrict access to Azure resources by segmenting them into private VNets and enabling access via VPN and controlled configurations.
• Implement managed identities for secure system-to-system communication and integrate secrets with Azure Vault.

Automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

• Develop scripts and tooling for automating recurring tasks using Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
• Employ IaC tools like Terraform to declaratively define, provision, and manage Azure resources using GitOps principles.
• Enable infrastructure versioning and integrate workflows for approvals and reviews.

CI/CD Pipeline Optimization

• Enhance CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps with YAML configurations.
• Implement commit annotation-based deployment workflows for Azure Static Web Apps, Azure Container Apps, and other services.
• Automate deployment of environments, configuration updates (e.g., CORS settings), and inter-service communication setups.

Log Aggregation and Monitoring

• Develop and execute KQL queries for Azure Log Analytics to support incident investigation and system troubleshooting.
• Design simple, user-friendly outputs and visualizations for log data.
• Configure telemetry-based metric scraping, setup monitoring solutions, and define actionable alerts.

Collaboration and Coordination

• Work closely with the application engineering team to integrate custom metrics and logging solutions.
• Assist in the design and development of infrastructure and deployment solutions for AI services and applications.

AI and Advanced Azure Services

• Manage and provision Azure AI services, including OpenAI, Azure AI Search, and other related services.
• Oversee user access management for AI resources, network segmentation, and application-level security integration.

Your Key Strengths

Technical Expertise

Proficient in Azure services, governance, and role management.

Advanced knowledge of network security concepts, including NSGs, ASGs, VLANs, and VPN configurations.

Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash) and familiarity with Git and GitOps workflows.

Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, pipelines in YAML)

Expertise in Terraform or equivalent IaC tools.

Understanding of ISO-27001 standards and implementation practices.

Automation and Observability

Skilled in log aggregation tools and query languages, especially KQL for Azure Log Analytics.

Familiarity with telemetry collection, metric visualization, and alert configurations.

Experience in implementing declarative automation for resource provisioning and updates.

Security and Best Practices

Comprehensive knowledge of managed identities, secrets management, and Vault integrations.

Proven ability to design secure inter-service communication patterns and access control policies.

Soft Skills

Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, especially in cross-functional teams.
