Public Policy Manager, GRCYMT, AWS Public Policy

Amazon Web Services is the leading provider of cloud computing services, providing IT infrastructure offerings such as on-demand compute capacity, storage, content delivery, database services and more.

We are looking for a talented, innovative, and well-connected individual to represent the cloud computing business of Amazon, Earth’s most customer-centric company, before National and local policymakers, IT decision makers, and senior government executives in Greece, Cyprus and Malta.

The successful candidate will proactively build relationships with key policymakers, IT decision makers and executives in government and other relevant organizations and help prioritize international, national, and local government public policy issues faced by AWS. You will work with our public sector and commercial businesses to create a policy environment that promotes cloud adoption to help customers thrive. This position will also lead AWS’s participation in key business associations and coalitions that are critical to advancing AWS public policy and business objectives. You will become familiar with all aspects of AWS’s business, and interface directly with the business units in the region. This government affairs and policy position will be based in Athens and will report to the Director of Public Policy EU MED (Mediterranean Europe).

Key job responsibilities

• Develop and execute well-defined projects related to public policy initiatives
• Conduct research and analysis to influence team decisions on processes and policy positions
• Engage with public policy stakeholders and effectively communicate Amazon's policy positions through direct advocacy
• Contribute to the development of strategies to advance business goals through policy
• Work across teams and potentially across organizations to drive policy objectives
• Handle difficult problems and efforts, making trade-offs between time, quality, and resources
• Contribute to external policy issues through analysis and develop subject matter expertise
  
  

Basic Qualifications

• Relevant experience in public policy, government relations, or a related field
• Relevant experience in cloud technology, or a related field
• Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, or a related field (advanced degree preferred)

• Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to synthesize complex information
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently while seeking guidance when needed
• Experience in engaging with public policy stakeholders and conducting direct advocacy
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
