Greenpeace Greece is looking for a Climate and Energy Campaigner to lead and execute impactful campaigns focused on combating climate change and promoting sustainable energy solutions. This position plays a crucial role in driving public awareness, engaging communities, and influencing policymakers to support a just transition to renewable energy. By advocating for climate-friendly policies and collaborating with various stakeholders, the campaigner helps advance Greenpeace’s mission to create a sustainable and environmentally responsible future with a strong focus on fossil fuel phase out. The campaigner will be asked to implement the strategic goals of the Climate & Energy campaign for 2025 delivering on agreed outputs and activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & Project Development: Analyze socio-economic trends, and guide campaign planning to ensure impactful, timely delivery on key climate objectives.
- Campaign Implementation: Plan and prepare data reports, draft press materials, manage public relations, and advocate for climate-positive policies.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage in partnerships with stakeholders, experts and media to amplify the campaign.
- Support & Leadership: Inspire and support colleagues, activists, and communities while maintaining a flexible and professional approach to all tasks.
Skills & Competencies
- Technical Skills: Fluent in Greek & English, strong computer literacy, knowledge of digital campaigning, and energy issues.
- Strategic & Analytical Abilities: Excellent public speaking skills, negotiation, project management, and reporting.
- Social Skills: Team-player with a proactive, adaptable attitude, and an ability to work under pressure.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: At least 2 years in advocacy campaigns (preferably Climate/Energy) and an understanding of the NGO landscape.
- Attitude: Positive mindset, adaptability and dedication to Greenpeace values.
Location: Based in our Athens office, with a flexible hybrid model. Travel: Occasional domestic and international travel. Driving license: Highly appreciated.
