Role Overview
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cost control systems, inventory management, and financial reporting in a fast-paced environment. The Cost Controller will work closely with department heads to optimize cost efficiency, monitor expenditures, and drive profitability.
Key duties & responsibilities
- Monitors and controls daily operational costs, including food & beverage, housekeeping, and other operational supplies.
- Ensures accurate inventory levels through regular stocktaking and auditing, identifying discrepancies, and working with relevant departments to resolve issues.
- Liaise with suppliers to negotiate pricing, review contracts, and ensure timely delivery of goods/services.
- Prepares and analyzes detailed financial reports, including food & beverage costs and other operational expenses.
- Collaborates with other departments (e.g., F&B, housekeeping, front office) to ensure cost control measures are adhered to without compromising guest satisfaction.
- Supports internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with company policies, industry standards, and financial regulations.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Degree in Finance / Business Administration or in a relevant field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a cost control, finance, or accounting role within the hospitality industry (hotels, resorts, restaurants, etc.).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and make actionable recommendations.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent knowledge of English language. Any additional language will be considered an asset
