Ground Segment Products Team

Our team develops, operates, and maintains cloud-based ground segment software critical for satellite operations. This includes our mission operations and image processing products that maintain reliable operations and provide valuable data insights to our customers. We follow a highly agile methodology in the team, we look for suggestions & contributions from all team members, and we’re not afraid to try new ways of working when we see an opportunity for improvement.

What will you be doing?

As Ground Segment Team Lead, you'll provide leadership and day-to-day line management for a team of Engineers. You'll take responsibility for Engineering velocity (burndown rate of the backlog), and the quality of the product area they cover.

You’ll be the main point of contact for product and system engineering teams for the ground segment products, identifying feasibility and deltas for proposals, capturing project requirements and deriving the roadmap for the team to deliver.

The successful candidate will be expected to have a strong knowledge of software and development lifecycles in order to have a deep understanding of our systems. Be proactive about ways to improve the team's velocity to deliver new releases quicker by improving these processes.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

• You’ll be responsible for managing a team of software engineers and engaging with them through the employee lifecycle.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and customers across the business to ensure successful delivery of new releases from requirement review to design, development, deployment, QA.
• Maintain and improve the software development lifecycle (SLDC) through agile methodologies such as sprint planning, retrospectives.
• Set out roadmap for the development of ground segment products delegating work to the engineers.
• Ability to work & learn independently, while also communicating effectively with the rest of the team to overcome blocking issues together
