We are currently seeking a Technician Utilities, Boiler & Machine Room to join our team in Alimos, Greece.

Role Description

The position holder will report to the Utilities and Facilities Maintenance Manager and will be responsible for ensuring the proper and smooth operation of the equipment, implementing the preventive maintenance plan, and troubleshooting and repairing Utilities equipment failures, while always complying with the plant’s GMP and Health & Safety requirements.

Main Responsibilities

  • Monitors and ensures the efficient operation of the mechanical equipment in the Utilities area of the Injectables Plant, including steam generators for the production of industrial and clean steam, water pretreatment units, Purified and distilled water production units, air compressors for compressed-air production, and air-conditioning units (HVAC).
  • Carries out and implements the preventive maintenance plan for the Plant’s Utilities equipment in accordance with the maintenance schedule and instructions and completes the required maintenance records.
  • Ensures the smooth operation of Utilities equipment and restores it to service following a breakdown. Assesses possible actions to prevent recurrence of the failure and informs the Supervisor accordingly.
  • Participates in and implements proposals to improve equipment operation, in terms of productivity, energy efficiency/saving.
  • Monitors and verifies that adequate quantities of spare parts are available in the warehouse and informs the Supervisor when procurement is required.
  • Manages the equipment technical manuals.
  • Ensures the completion of corrective and preventive actions in consultation with the Supervisor and the Department Manager.
  • Immediately informs the Supervisor of any unsafe conditions concerning equipment and the health and safety of plant personnel.

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a Technological Educational Institute (TEI), together with a professional practice licence, or a licence as a chief boiler operator, boiler operator, assistant boiler operator, or 4th-specialty mechanical technician.
  • Knowledge of thermal energy generation and distribution systems (steam generators, heat exchangers, and industrial and clean steam distribution networks).
  • Knowledge of water production and treatment systems.
  • Knowledge of HVAC units.
  • Knowledge of English.
  • Basic knowledge of computer handling.
  • Five to ten years of industrial experience. Previous experience in the food or pharmaceutical industry will be considered an additional qualification.
  • Ability to identify faults and troubleshoot problems.
  • Good knowledge of mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to develop and manage alternative plans for resolving problems.
