Project Manager - Thessaloniki

Reporting & Role Scope

The Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end planning, execution and delivery of industrial dismantling projects within a high-demand, safety-critical environment, ensuring that all activities are completed in accordance with the agreed project scope, schedule, budget, quality standards and HSE requirements.

The role will be based in Thessaloniki and will lead the on-site execution of the project, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, engineers, consultants, and equipment operators. The Project Manager will serve as the primary point of coordination between the client, engineering teams, site personnel, subcontractors, and company management.

The role requires a strong technical and project management background, significant hands-on experience in large-scale industrial projects and the ability to manage complex operational, financial, contractual, environmental and safety requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery & Execution

· Take overall accountability for the end-to-end planning, execution and successful delivery of the project in accordance with agreed scope, schedule, budget, quality and contractual requirements.

· Lead and coordinate all project and site activities, ensuring effective sequencing of works, allocation of resources and resolution of technical, operational and logistical challenges.

· Monitor performance against key milestones and deliverables and implement corrective actions where required.

Financial, Commercial & Contract Management

· Take accountability for project budget, cost control, forecasting and overall financial performance.

· Oversee procurement, subcontractor performance, variations, change orders, claims, and progress payments in collaboration with relevant internal functions.

· Ensure effective management of contractual obligations and commercial risks, protecting project objectives and profitability.

Health, Safety, Quality, Environmental & Regulatory Compliance

· Ensure full compliance with HSQE legislation, environmental requirements, permits, regulatory obligations and company standards.

· Establish and maintain a strong safety-first culture, ensuring effective risk, incident, and corrective/preventive action management.

· Ensure compliant management of hazardous and non-hazardous materials and adherence to all applicable waste-management requirements.

Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management

· Lead multidisciplinary project teams and subcontractors, promoting accountability, collaboration, high performance and ownership of safety and quality.

· Serve as the primary interface between the company, client, contractors, consultants, regulatory authorities, and other key stakeholders.

· Maintain effective stakeholder relationships and ensure timely escalation and resolution of significant project issues.

Project Governance, Risk & Reporting

· Maintain effective project governance, risk management, documentation and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

· Provide management and the client with clear visibility of project progress, financial performance, key risks, issues and required decisions.

· Anticipate and mitigate project risks and drive continuous improvement, operational efficiency and lessons learned.

Key Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or another relevant Engineering discipline.

· Minimum 10 years of on-site project management experience in large-scale, technically complex projects.

· Proven experience in leading multidisciplinary project teams, subcontractors, and site operations.

· Strong experience in project planning, scheduling, budget management and cost control.

· Good knowledge of contract administration and contractual frameworks, including variations, claims and change management.

· Strong knowledge of HSE and environmental requirements applicable to industrial projects.

· Strong leadership, organizational and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to operate effectively in demanding project environments.

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, risk-management and decision-making capabilities.

· Proficiency in project planning and scheduling tools such as MS Project and/or Primavera, as well as relevant digital reporting tools.

· Fluency in written and spoken Greek and English.

Preferred Requirements

· MSc in Engineering, Project Management or another relevant discipline will be considered an advantage.

· Demonstrated experience in waste management will be considered an advantage.

· PMP or equivalent Project Management certification will be considered an advantage.

· Previous experience in industrial dismantling, decommissioning, demolition, oil & gas, or similar heavy industrial projects will be considered an advantage.

· Experience with FIDIC or similar contractual frameworks will be considered an advantage.
