We are looking for motivated professionals to join our Accounting Department in one of the following roles:


  • Accounts Payable Assistant Accountant
  • Sales Invoicing Assistant


Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, you will support the daily operations of the Accounting Department, with responsibilities depending on the position.


Key Responsibilities


Sales Invoicing

  • Prepare and issue customer sales invoices.
  • Distribute invoices to customers via email or other agreed communication channels.
  • Upload invoicing information to customer portals.
  • Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on collections.
  • Reconcile invoiced data against operational data and investigate any discrepancies.
  • Prepare customer account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with the Accounting, Customer Service, Pricing and Cost Control teams to resolve invoicing issues.


Accounts Payable Assistant Accountant

  • Process supplier invoices accurately and on time.
  • Verify supplier invoices against supporting documentation and company policies.
  • Prepare and post supplier invoices in the accounting system.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and liaise with suppliers to resolve discrepancies.
  • Assists in the preparation of supplier payment runs.
  • Prepare disbursement accounts, ensuring that same are in line with port tariffs and agreed terms.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and investigate reconciling items.
  • Post bank transactions.
  • Monitor and review employee expenses forms.
  • Assist in the reconciliation of MGAs and resolve outstanding items.
  • Ensure compliance with myDATA requirements and support the timely submission of relevant data.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned


General Responsibilities (applicable for both roles)

  • Assist with the preparation and recording of accounting entries.
  • Organize, file and maintain accounting records and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures, accounting standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth financial operations.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field (MSc or MBA will be considered an asset).
  • 1–4 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Experience in the shipping or maritime industry will be considered an advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Greek and English (a third language will be considered an asset).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills.


Skills

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP and Microsoft Power BI will be considered an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive and positive attitude.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
