MPD Greece is the exclusive distributor of Rolls Royce Power Systems and MTU diesel engines in Greece. The company specializes in all mechanical and electronic work related to MTU engines, the implementation of cutting-edge technologies and continuous training of its highly esteemed employees. MPD Greece is based in Koropi, facilitating a fully equipped 3,000 square meters workshop, offices, and logistics center. Due to its continued successful operation, MPD Greece is expanding its dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with Greek legislation and company policies.
- Ensure timely submission of statutory reports to tax authorities and other regulatory bodies.
- Oversee reconciliations of accounts, including banks, suppliers, and customers.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns, withholding tax, income tax declarations, and other mandatory filings in accordance with Greek tax law.
- Ensure compliance with obligations to AADE and other relevant authorities.
- Monitor legislative changes in Greek tax and accounting regulations and advise management accordingly.
- Support statutory audits and liaise with external auditors to ensure smooth completion of audits.
- Manage payroll processing, payroll calculations and related submissions in compliance with Greek labour law, EFKA and ERGANI requirements.
- Supervise daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting and general ledger entries.
- Implement and monitor internal controls and accounting procedures tailored to company operations.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure accurate financial data flow and reporting.
- Supervise and support junior accountants, including review of accounting entries and financial reports prepared by the team.
- Uphold confidentiality of financial and employee data and promptly report any irregularities or compliance issues to management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably with experience in a senior accounting role.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of Greek accounting standards, Greek tax law, VAT, withholding taxes and statutory reporting requirements.
- Good knowledge of AADE obligations and other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Experience with payroll processing, EFKA and ERGANI procedures will be considered a strong asset.
- Experience in account reconciliations, financial statements preparation and audit support.
- Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems (Pylon, SAP, SoftOne or similar) and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Ability to supervise and support junior accountants in daily accounting tasks.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and discretion with confidential information.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent command of English language.
