Python Developer

Intellectica is recruiting a Python Developer on behalf of its client, an innovative and fast-scaling technology company focused on developing AI- powered systems of environmental protection in renewable energy. Driven by a clear long-term vision and strong technical leadership, the organization is building a high-performing engineering team to support the development, deployment, and scaling of the core platform, working across edge systems and cloud infrastructure. Based in Gerakas, Attiki, and reporting directly to the Software Engineering Manager, the ideal candidate will play a key role in developing reliable, production-grade systems contributing to the continuous evolution of the company’s software products.

Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:

• Write, test, and maintain clean, well-structured, and efficient Python code for backend services, contributing to feature development under the guidance of senior engineers while following software engineering best practices and backend architecture principles
• Support the design, development, and maintenance of microservices and RESTful APIs, contributing to scalable and secure backend architectures
• Work with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis to perform data access, query optimization, and basic database design and maintenance tasks
• Write unit tests, troubleshoot technical issues, and participate in debugging activities to ensure code quality, reliability, and application performance
• Participate actively in code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions, continuously improving coding standards and engineering practices
• Gain hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, system monitoring, and day-to-day operational support within modern cloud-based environments
• Collaborate with backend engineers and, where relevant, cross-functional teams including frontend and AI specialists to deliver integrated software solutions
• Contribute to the exploration and integration of emerging technologies, including large language models (LLMs), AI-powered agents, and modern Python tools, while continuously expanding technical knowledge and skills

Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or another related STEM discipline
• 1–3 years of experience in software development, with Python as the primary programming language in a predominantly backend development environment
• Solid understanding of Python fundamentals and experience writing clean, maintainable, and well-structured code following software engineering best practices
• Familiarity with modern Python web frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask, gained through professional, academic, or personal projects
• Working knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and version control systems such as Git
• Exposure to frontend technologies (e.g., JavaScript) is considered an advantage
• Previous experience or personal interest in Artificial Intelligence, Large Language Models (LLMs), or AI-driven applications will be considered a strong asset
