Role Description
This is a full-time, Accountant role located in Athens. The Accountant will support the day-to-day accounting of a multinational group of legal entities within a private equity real estate firm, working closely with the Group finance team on the accounting function for international entities operating under IFRS.
The role focuses on daily accounting operations, bookkeeping, reconciliations, and month-end close support.
Key responsibilities
- Process day-to-day accounting entries accurately and on time, including invoices, payments, accruals, and prepayments
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations
- Maintain accurate accounting records, supporting schedules, and organised files across multiple entities
- Support month-end, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Assist with intercompany accounting and reconciliations
- Prepare supporting documentation and schedules for review by the senior finance team
- Support external advisors and auditors by preparing requested accounting information
- Assist with routine finance administration
- Contribute to improving accounting processes and the quality of financial information as the in-house function continues to develop
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping or finance roles
- Good understanding of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping
- Experience working in an international accounting environment or exposure to IFRS-based accounting
- Experience with journal entries, reconciliations and month-end support
- Good Excel skills and familiarity with accounting or ERP systems
- Able to work accurately, consistently and in a structured manner
- Comfortable handling detailed transactional work across multiple legal entities
- Proficient in English
- Reliable, hands-on and motivated to support a growing international finance function
