About the Role:

We are looking for an IT Specialist to perform remote vessel installations and maintain the operational databases behind our fleet management platform. The role focuses on software installations, upgrades, database maintenance, troubleshooting and production support for vessels worldwide, together with support for the remote VPS environments used to host and operate our services.

As part of our technology team, you'll keep vessel installations reliable and up to date, resolve application and database issues, support users, and coordinate with engineering teams for deployments, database updates and production fixes.

This is a hands-on position for someone with practical IT support experience who enjoys remote troubleshooting, understands databases and networking, and wants exposure to VPS, cloud and DevOps practices.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

· Perform remote software installations, upgrades, configuration and maintenance for vessels worldwide.

· Maintain vessel databases, including backup/restore checks, updates, integrity checks and troubleshooting.

· Support and monitor remote VPS environments used for application hosting, database services and backups.

· Troubleshoot application, database, connectivity, VPN and production issues affecting vessel installations.

· Provide IT support to internal and external users for application access, remote access and operational issues.

· Assist with database migrations, data fixes and deployment verification under engineering guidance.

· Coordinate with vessel and shore users and engineering teams during installations, upgrades and incidents.

· Maintain installation guides, database procedures, support notes and security best practices.

· Support AWS infrastructure and Docker environments when required.

· Assist with CI/CD pipelines, scripts and automation tasks where needed.

· Collaborate with engineering teams to support releases, deployments and production stability.

Requirements

· Experience in IT Support, Application Support, Systems Administration or Production Support roles.

· Experience with software installation, upgrades, remote support and troubleshooting.

· Practical database knowledge, including backups, restores, basic SQL queries and data troubleshooting.

· Solid understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, remote access and connectivity troubleshooting).

· Experience supporting VPS, cloud or hosted production environments.

· Familiarity with AWS services (EC2, IAM, S3) or similar cloud platforms.

· Basic experience with Docker and Git.

· Strong troubleshooting, documentation and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

· Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions).

· Familiarity with Terraform or Infrastructure as Code.

· Experience with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus).

· Exposure to Linux environments and database administration.
