About the job

Based at Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino within the Engineering Department in Pylos, Messenia, Greece, the Assistant Engineering Manager is responsible for supervising engineers to uphold policies and procedures in accordance with Mandarin Oriental guidelines and for ensuring compliance to all local, state, and federal regulations.

As Assistant Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  Provide daily supervisory support to Engineering colleagues and assist the Director and Engineering Manager in ensuring consistent adherence to hotel and departmental standards.

  Support the Director and Engineering Manager in maintaining the physical asset according to local codes, ensuring compliance with Mandarin Oriental's Fire Life Health and Safety Systems requirements.

  Assist in developing and implementing departmental SOPs and contribute to the execution of Preventative Maintenance programs.

  
  


• 
  

  Perform daily administration of the facility’s main operating systems and provide hands‑on support to engineers in completing routine tasks.

  
  


• 
  

  Support colleague training on emergency preparedness, communicate effectively across all levels, and represent the department in key meetings when the Director and Engineering Manager are absent.

  
  


• 
  

  Set a positive example by upholding all hotel and departmental policies, ensure colleague compliance, and carry out tasks assigned by the Director and Engineering Manager, as well as by the Leadership Team of the hotel.

  
  

As Assistant Engineering Manager, we expect from you:

  Valid EU Passport or Hellenic Residence Permit.

  
  


• 
  

  Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

  
  


• 
  

  3-5 years' experience in a similar role.

  
  


• 
  

  Fluency in English.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong overall computer literacy.

  
  


• 
  

  Construction and/or facilities management background will be considered as a plus.
