ICAP Executive Search, on behalf of its client, a Leading Multinational Company with Complex, Multi-Site Industrial Operations, is seeking an experienced Head of Health & Safety.

Head of Health & Safety (6241/HHS/ESS/GR)

The Head of Health & Safety leads the company's H&S strategy, systems, and governance, with a strong focus on transforming safety culture across the organization. The role is responsible for driving a long-term change program that embeds safety into everyday decision-making, develops leadership and employee capability, and builds an interdependent safety culture where everyone takes ownership of their own safety and that of others.

Responsibilities:

• Sets the strategic direction for effective health and safety management and appropriate workplace programs for employees. Supports and provides guidance to all management levels, identifying and responding to current legal and best practice requirements.
• Builds and leads a high-performing Safety team aligned to purpose, values and strategy.
• Develops leadership capability through coaching, mentoring and succession planning.
• Creates organizational ownership of safety and reduces dependency on Safety teams for outcomes.
• Initiates and oversees a Health and Safety leadership change program across the organization.
• Ensures the existence of a specific H&S policy that includes clear, tangible targets, fully understood by all employees. Also, creates working instructions and procedures that provide guidance to all levels in H&S and are in accordance with the existing policy.
• Monitors, evaluates, and reviews existing, new and upcoming health and safety legislation and ensures that systems and procedures are in place to meet legal compliance and other requirements.
• Works closely with the Health and Safety team and coordinator to ensure compliance requirements are being controlled, documented, and maintained in accordance with regulations and guidelines.
• Ensures that rigorous risk assessment and incident management systems are in place and followed across the organization.
• Liaises with HR on health and wellbeing issues, particularly where a risk assessment has identified a need, including supporting HR and line managers in organizing and implementing action plans when required.
• Oversees and undertakes audits where appropriate and ensures an action plan with SMART objectives is established to address issues identified.

Απαραίτητα Προσόντα:

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a relevant field
• Minimum of 5 years in a leading H&S role
• Certification in ISO45001 health and safety management system
• Solid knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices in the workplace
• Strong background in local and international H&S legislation
• Fluency in English language
• Leadership and Resilience
• Change advocate, dynamic and energetic
• Team player and results oriented with excellent communication skills
