WordPress Frontend Developer and Graphic Designer

Remote role, Thessaloniki area, 24 to 40 hours per week

banse is a medium sized German business consultancy with a focus on HR and marketing. We are a small, hands on team and work very closely with our clients, mainly small and medium sized companies in Germany.

Our client work is varied and practical. We support companies with websites, content, marketing materials, digital communication, HR related projects and operational marketing tasks. We have identified a clear skill gap in our team and are looking for a person who can support us with both WordPress development and graphic design.

We are now looking for a WordPress Frontend Developer and Graphic Designer based in the Thessaloniki area. The role is remote, but we are specifically looking for someone in or around Thessaloniki, as we see this as an important location for our long term development.

About the role

This is a hybrid role for someone who combines strong design skills with practical WordPress frontend development experience.

You should feel comfortable working on websites, landing pages, content updates, custom WordPress themes, Gutenberg custom blocks, ACF based structures, Adobe design tools, Figma, Canva and selected print materials.

Around 70 percent of the work will be digital and WordPress related. Around 30 percent will involve graphic design, print materials, content support and operational tasks.

This is not a pure page builder role. Experience with Elementor or similar tools is fine, but it should not be your only way of building WordPress websites. We are looking for someone who can work with structured, maintainable WordPress setups, custom themes, templates, ACF fields, ACF blocks, Gutenberg custom blocks and frontend code.

Your responsibilities

You will support us with both digital and graphic tasks, including:

  Developing, maintaining and updating WordPress websites

  Working with custom WordPress themes, templates, Gutenberg custom blocks and ACF fields or blocks

  Implementing responsive frontend layouts using HTML, CSS and JavaScript

  Supporting PHP based WordPress theme adjustments

  
  


• 
  

  Creating website layouts, landing pages and design mockups in Figma

  
  


• 
  

  Preparing and editing graphics using Adobe Creative Cloud tools, especially InDesign and Photoshop

  
  


• 
  

  Creating and adapting print materials such as flyers, invitations, brochures, magazine layouts and presentations

  
  


• 
  

  Updating website content, images, pages and structures in WordPress

  
  


• 
  

  Supporting website administration and ongoing maintenance

  Working with Canva when clients use it for social media or simple design workflows

  Supporting basic SEO tasks, content structure and on page improvements

  Helping with selected operational and administrative tasks related to websites, content and client projects

  Working closely with our German based team on day to day client work

  
  

What we are looking for

We are primarily looking for a mid level profile, but we are open to different levels of experience if you can show strong practical work.

You should bring:

  Practical experience with WordPress frontend development

  Good knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript

Important note about WordPress

We are not looking for someone who only works with ready made WordPress themes or visual page builders.

You do not need to be a backend specialist. However, you should be able to work beyond standard themes and page builders. Custom themes, ACF fields, ACF blocks, Gutenberg custom blocks, templates and frontend code should feel familiar to you.
