Junior Research Backend Engineer

We are looking for our next talented Junior Research Backend Engineer to join our team. 

In this role, the ideal candidate should have:  

Responsibilities   

• Design edge, fog, cloud based software solutions  
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards  
• Optimize software stacks for reliability, scalability, and performance  
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and deliver solutions that meet user needs  
• Participate in project meetings, designing and delivering presentations  
• Prepare project deliverables, and progress reports  
• Adapt to the Agile way of working 

Requirements   

Education   

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering   
• Master’s degree is a plus

• Convey technical information to non-technical audiences   

Professional  

• Experience with Python 
• Experience with version control tools (Github) 
• Experience with web frameworks (FastAPI, Django, Flask)  
• Experience in IoT systems, including, MQTT protocol 
• Experience with Containers (Docker)  
• Experience with querying databases (SQL, NoSQL, Timeseries)  
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications  
• Excellent use of English (oral, written, understanding) 

Nice to have 

Prior involvement in EU-funded research or innovation projects  

Other   

• Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally when needed
