Role Overview

Ethniki Asfalistiki is looking for a Financial Analyst who will be a key member of our finance team, providing support and guidance in a variety of financial analysis and activities. The successful candidate will lead specific FP&A processes, mentor junior team members, and act as a key point of contact for financial matters across different departments. This role will contribute in the overall strategic direction of the organization and by supporting management in making informed financial decisions.

Main Responsibilities

  • Developing annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial plans. This includes collaborating with various departments to gather input and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Analyzing actual financial results against budgets and forecasts, identifying key variances, and providing insightful explanations to management. This often involves investigating underlying drivers and recommending corrective actions.
  • Preparing and presenting timely and accurate financial reports to senior management.
  • Developing and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor business performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline and improve FP&A processes, enhance efficiency, and ensure data accuracy.
  • Conducting special financial analyses and participating in cross-functional projects as needed.

Candidate Job Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
  • 3 to 6 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Deep understanding of financial accounting principles (IFRS and/ or GAAP) and financial statements.
  • Excellent command of MS Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated flexibility with ability to manage change.
  • Exceptional collaboration and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and fluency in both English and Greek.
  • No pending military obligations (for Greek male citizens).

Will Be Considered a Plus

  • Master's degree in a relevant field or MBA.
  • Professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, or ACCA.
  • Understanding and experience with IFRS 17 (Insurance Contracts) will be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of specialized software for financial data analysis (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Programming skills (e.g., SQL, Python).
