We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Health Care Support Worker to join our Theatre/Endoscopy team at the Lorn and Islands Hospital Oban. The department cares for elective and emergency surgical and endoscopy patients.
The Theatre/Endoscopy department is operational Monday to Friday for people attending for both general surgery and endoscopy procedures. In addition, there is an out of hours on call service for emergencies.
The successful applicant will work 2 days per week in all areas - Peri-operative, Anaesthetics, Reception, Recovery and Endoscopy, and be part of the on call team.
This is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to gain new skills and experience in elective, emergency and surgical/endoscopic procedures.
Candidates should have the ability to work well under pressure, willing to work flexibly to meet the needs of the 24/7 service while supporting the team to provide safe and effective care to patients with varying levels of complexity.
Previous healthcare experience is essential. Candidates must also be able to demonstrate they are an effective team member, with excellent communication and IT skills.
