E-Commerce & Digital Sales Executive

the role

The E-Commerce & Digital Sales Executive works closely with the Head of Business Development to drive the company’s online commercial performance across all digital sales channels, including the corporate e-commerce platform, marketplaces, and affiliate digital partners.

This role ensures a seamless and optimised end-to-end customer journey, from digital discovery to purchase and retention, combining strong commercial acumen with data-driven performance marketing skills.

The Executive plays a key role in translating business and marketing strategies into measurable e-commerce growth initiatives, collaborating closely with Sales, Product, Marketing, Design, IT, and Customer Service teams to deliver tangible commercial impact.

Responsibilities

E-Commerce Strategy & Execution

  • Execute the e-commerce strategy under the guidance of the Head of Business Development, ensuring alignment with overall sales and brand objectives.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the online store, including product catalog updates, pricing, merchandising, and promotions.
  • Implement best-in-class user experience (UX) and conversion optimisation practices to improve performance metrics.
  • Coordinate cross-departmental input (Marketing, Design, Product, Customer Service, and IT) to maintain an effective and consistent online presence.
  • Support the development of new e-commerce functionalities (e.g., subscription models, bundles, referral programs).

Digital Sales & Revenue Optimisation

  • Monitor and optimise all digital sales channels; company-owned e-shop, online distributors, and affiliate marketplaces (e.g., Amazon, regional partners).
  • Execute promotional campaigns, flash sales, and loyalty offers to drive revenue and customer engagement.
  • Track sales performance and conversion rates on a daily basis, identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Implement cross-sell and up-sell mechanisms across product pages and checkout flows.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team to design automated email and remarketing campaigns that convert leads into paying customers.

Product Management & Merchandising

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date product listings, images, specifications, and pricing.
  • Work closely with the Brand & Product Design Team to ensure visual consistency across all listings.
  • Develop category strategies to highlight new product launches, top sellers, and seasonal campaigns.
  • Manage promotional placements and digital shelf visibility in collaboration with marketing team.

Digital Marketing Integration

  • Collaborate with the Advertising & Media Planning Team to provide strategic guidance for paid campaigns (Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, programmatic, remarketing).
  • Align e-commerce content to ensure consistent storytelling across the website and social channels.
  • Manage tracking pixels, conversion tags, and attribution models to accurately measure ROI from digital campaigns.
  • Leverage SEO, SEM, and paid media insights to optimize product discoverability and online conversions.

Data Analytics & Performance Reporting

  • Monitor key e-commerce KPIs including traffic, conversion rate, average order value (AOV), cart abandonment, and customer lifetime value (CLV).
  • Use Google Analytics, Shopify (or platform-specific dashboards), and CRM insights to assess sales performance and user behavior.
  • Develop weekly and monthly sales performance dashboards and present insights to the Head of Business Development.
  • Identify patterns, trends, and gaps in product performance, user flow, and campaign ROI to recommend corrective actions.

Customer Journey & Retention

  • Ensure a seamless customer experience across all digital touchpoints, from discovery to checkout to after-sales.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service/Front Desk and Logistics teams to monitor order fulfillment and delivery satisfaction.
  • Implement retention tactics such as loyalty programs, post-purchase follow-ups, and personalised recommendations.
  • Manage customer feedback collection (reviews, ratings, testimonials) and integrate insights into improvement plans.

Marketplace & Affiliate Management

  • Identify and onboard new digital sales channels, affiliate programs, and marketplace opportunities.
  • Maintain relationships with existing online retail and affiliate partners, ensuring brand compliance and promotional alignment.
  • Negotiate listing terms, promotional campaigns, and commission structures when applicable.
  • Track partner sales performance and ensure operational excellence across all platforms.

KPIs & Success Metrics

  • Online sales revenue and growth (YoY and MoM)
  • Conversion rate optimisation (CRO) and cart abandonment reduction
  • Customer acquisition cost (CAC) vs. lifetime value (LTV)
  • SEO/SEM performance (ranking, traffic, organic conversions)
  • Customer satisfaction and retention metrics
  • Marketplace partner sales contribution

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Digital Commerce, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
  • Experience: 4+ years in a similar role focused on e-commerce, digital sales, or online marketing within consumer goods, healthcare, or technology.
  • Proven experience in transforming insights into actionable execution plans that unlock potential and maximize business results.
  • Strong exposure to matrix organisations, demonstrating ability to align regional strategies with local business goals.
  • Proven ability to influence and engage stakeholders across multiple functions.
  • Demonstrates agility and quick, informed decision-making in a multicultural, fast-paced environment.
  • Results-driven and self-motivated, capable of taking initiative and leading digital growth projects with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, able to build productive relationships across teams and regions.
  • Strong project management capabilities, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively under pressure.
  • Translate AI-generated insights into actionable commercial initiatives, supporting cross-functional decision-making and driving growth.
  • On-site position: No hybrid work mode. Full on-site collaboration required for maximum team integration and operational efficiency.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of e-commerce operations, UX, and analytics
  • Proficiency in e-commerce CMS platforms (Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, etc.)
  • Strong digital marketing and sales analytics background
  • Excellent command of Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, and SEO tools
  • Familiarity with AI-driven analytics tools (e.g., Google AI/Gemini, ChatGPT, Jasper, copy.ai) to optimise e-commerce strategy, product descriptions, customer service replies, conversion, and customer journeys.
  • Strategic mindset with commercial focus and hands-on execution capability
  • Cross-functional coordination, attention to detail, and time management
  • Fluency in Greek and English (additional languages considered a plus)
