We are looking for a Procurement Manager for Hitachi Energy Greece (Athens) offices to manage and ensure the correct local business unit (LBU) procurement & logistics process flow of information and products to achieve defined targets for customer service level, operation costs and inventory levels.

We are looking for a Procurement Manager for Hitachi Energy Greece (Athens) offices to manage and ensure the correct local business unit (LBU) procurement & logistics process flow of information and products to achieve defined targets for customer service level, operation costs and inventory levels.

Your Responsibilities

  • Sourcing strategy Implements effective sourcing strategies in line with business strategy and regional/global Continuous Improvement Process Sourcing (CIPS) strategy to ensure that suppliers have the capability and capacity to meet current and future business requirements. Ensure all relevant parties understand strategies and execute processes accordingly. Ensures alignment between local SCM activities and the SCM centers.
  • Process: In accordance with Group SCM guidelines and local Division/Business Unit objectives, implements programs to drive improvement in cost, quality, delivery and working capital (payment terms, lead times, order quantities and purchased material inventory).
  • Procurement Manages: planning and tracking of procurement activities, cost budgets, emerging country spending and savings forecasts. Ensures buyers minimize risk regarding quality and financial exposure by buying in accordance with quality and commercial procedures and in accordance with Company guidelines.
  • Project Monitoring: When managing specific projects, in coordination with the Operations Manager, oversee delivery process to ensure that cost, quality and delivery time meet project expectations.
  • Supplier agreements: Leverages CIPS category teams locally, regionally and globally to ensure appropriate supplier selection. Defines and establishes local standard agreements with all major local suppliers. Apply and implement Global Frame Agreements with global suppliers. Provides and maintains in purchase contracts/standard terms and conditions in line with Company directives and guidelines.
  • TT&L- Ensures optimization of warehousing, loading and shipping operations whilst ensuring all local operations are performed to respective quality standards and in full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and a safe workplace. Identifies, selects and manages local logistics service providers to maximize efficiency and effectiveness in relation to quality, cost and service standards.
  • People leadership and development: Ensures (with HR Manager support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guides, motivates and develops direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies and Group Supply Chain Management excellence guidelines (knowledge management, functional training, etc.).

Your Background

  • University degree in Supply Chain Management or other technical background
  • At least 10 years of experience in well organized procurement and logistics department
  • Excellent knowledge of English and Greek language
  • Excellent knowledge of MS office
  • Ability to manage teams
  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills
  • Proven ability to develop and manage suppliers relationships
