About the role
The Host/Hostess is the first point of contact for guests, ensuring a warm welcome, smooth seating, and an exceptional front-of-house experience. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage guest relations efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests warmly upon arrival and create a positive first impression.
- Manage reservations, incoming calls, and emails through the reservation system.
- Communicate with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and service, responding to complaints and providing solutions as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and order in the front-of-house area.
- Greet and farewell guests upon departure, ensuring a memorable experience.
- Produce and send letters of confirmation for reservations.
- Assist with seating arrangements, special requests, and guest inquiries.
- Provide feedback to management regarding guest experiences and service improvements.
- Perform any additional duties as required by the F&B or Front Office department.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position within a 5* hotel or high-end restaurant.
- Excellent command of English; additional foreign languages are an asset.
- Comfortable with technology and reservation systems.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Professional appearance, friendly demeanor, and service-oriented attitude.
- Degree in Hotel and Tourism Management is a plus.
