Your Impact

You’ll be part of McKinsey’s Greek Office team and will be based in Athens. You will aid Greek office leaders in delivering the client activation mission, supporting the overall client activation strategy and related priority proposal opportunities. You will collaborate with the office leadership and local key practice leaders and client-service team (with a focus on global energy and materials (GEM), Travel, Logistics, and Infrastructure (TLI), Social, Healthcare, and Public Entities (SHAPE), and Banking), as well as the rest of the local and European proposal team. You will collaborate with consultants leading priority proposals. Day-to-day, your team will consist of a network of client activation colleagues, including the proposal team, knowledge professionals, internal firm functions such as legal, risk, and finance teams, and consultants with different levels of seniority and varying topical expertise.

Alongside your alignment to the office needs, you will be part of McKinsey’s Proposal Services path, a global community focused on growing our existing and new client relationships by enabling efficient and effective delivery of proposals. You will collaborate with other colleagues (e.g., client development advisors, proposal strategists, designers, competitive insights specialists, etc.) to shape our thinking on proposal best practices and drive continuous improvement.

In this role, you will support teams within the office and practices to co-create elements of distinctive proposals and associated supporting materials. Specifically, you will:

  • Coordinate the proposal document and process for State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) (~60%), public sector (~30%), and private clients (~10%) in collaboration with local office functions and by leveraging best practices from the European proposal team. You will create timely and high-quality administrative proposal content, gather feedback, and manage the cadence of iterations and reviews with the Client Service Teams (CSTs)
  • Embed yourself in consultant and proposal teams via an agile operating model to learn client context and create administrative/legal documents and materials aligned with tender requirements
  • Prepare templates, compliance matrices, statements, and other administrative elements during the proposal development process based on client submission requirements
  • Support contract drafting/negotiation, signatures, and collection and preparation of administrative documents required for proposals. This includes archiving contracts, tender-related documentation, and other administrative tasks such as managing the supplier qualification process.
  • Seek opportunities to bring the best of the Firm’s broader capabilities and expertise into proposals
  • Contribute to positive team dynamics by supporting other team members and celebrating success stories
  • Grow industry and sector knowledge during and outside of proposals to help shape content proactively with relevant knowledge, including planning and managing proposals to ensure that all phases are adequately monitored
  • Adhere to relevant procedures (e.g., file structure, archiving, and backup) for all proposal materials and processes
  • Build proposal development expertise and create content and thought leadership that can be used as recipes or best practices at the cell or global level
  • Maintain and populate proposal assets (e.g., playbooks, digital tools, templates, best-practice examples, and reference cases), improving efficiency in responses and ensuring more consistent adherence to deadlines

Your Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree, ideally in law
  • 2+ years of experience in end-to-end private sector proposal development, with a focus on Greek procurement processes and procedures
  • Basic understanding of client development in professional services
  • Proven project management skills
  • Strong conceptual and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Results-oriented, entrepreneurial, and self-motivated
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across roles and levels
  • High professional and ethical standards, with a strong commitment to confidentiality
  • Fluent communication skills in English and Greek, both written and verbal, with the ability to synthesize and present complex information clearly
