In Unismack SA we are We are looking for a Food Technologist to join our FSQR team and play a vital role in ensuring that all finished products and raw materials meet internal and external safety, quality, and regulatory standards. This role acts as a key link between production, engineering, and quality, contributing directly to product compliance, integrity, and continuous improvement processes.

Key Responsibilities:
Ensure timely product testing based on the annual quality plan; identify non-conformities and propose corrective and preventive actions.
Conduct routine internal audits of production operations to assess compliance and areas for improvement.
Troubleshoot quality issues in collaboration with production and engineering teams.
Maintain customer and regulatory product specification systems (e.g. Kosher, Vegan, Non-GMO).
Plan and oversee implementation of testing protocols for raw materials and finished goods.
Participate in internal and external audits (e.g. third-party, customer-specific, mock recalls).
Collaborate with FSQR and hygiene teams to ensure traceability, product safety, and continuous compliance.
Stay updated with current food industry legislation, food microbiology, and compliance trends
Provide technical guidance to production, procurement, and leadership on food safety and quality standards.
Ability to guide, motivate, and coordinate cross-functional teams
Must Have Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related field
Ability to conduct audits and assessments
Ability to build trust and collaborate across departments and manage multiple tasks
Strong knowledge of food safety principles and regulations
Familiarity with food processing and manufacturing practices
Minimum 3 years of experience in food safety and quality assurance
Qualifications:
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
Excellent communication, teamwork abilities and negotiation skills
