Responsibilities
- Business analytical and technical support of our key Critical & Important applications including Respond for Complaints and Cluster Seven EUC solutions management.
- Build & demonstrate a detailed business and underpinning technical understanding of these applications, including: knowledge of server and other supporting infrastructure, undertake incident triage/resolution, problem investigation & resolution, change, release & upgrade management, testing, project planning and deployment, license management and vendor management.
- Develop a capability for configuration development and support for the Respond complaints platform specifically. Taking requirements from user concepts to delivery.
- Ensure software currency is maintained, ensuring we remain on supported platforms, including the planning and delivery of SQL/Windows upgrades in line with dictated project timelines.
- Be able to identify and provide solutions to maintain application resiliency expectations and performance standards.
- Ensure our applications are maintained/enhanced within Information Security and Architectural guidelines and being a ‘go to’ for Security issue and exception management. Lead our responses to Security initiatives and requirements.
- Responsibility for ensuring that new/amended versions of the Team’s supported applications, and those newly assigned follow architectural and security governance requirements as part of the Build Permit process. Also ensuring the applications & infrastructure system of record (APM/CMDB) is kept fully maintained for applications which the team is responsible for.
- Service transition, support, enhancement and change budget management for additional applications that our Team may be asked to accommodate.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 4-5 years of experience in a similar technically oriented, business-focused role, looking for a new challenge/opportunities.
- Experience of prior working within insurance and/or financial services regulatory frameworks is desirable.
- Experience of working within a large global organization, with a European remit and where IT services are delivered from multiple geographies and time zones.
- Demonstrable experience in the support of complex business applications, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience of working in an Agile environment.
- Good understanding of technical environments underpinning applications, including MS Windows, SQL Server and also Cloud hosting environments such as MS Azure.
- Ability, determination and willingness to accept a variety of challenging assignments and to own business IT requirements, issues or problems until satisfactorily fulfilled/resolved.
- Self-sufficient and dynamic individual who is able to learn quickly, hit the ground running and looking to achieve rapid results.
- Experience in requirements analysis and the ability to devise business solutions.
- Good experience in working with/ability to quickly develop skills needed for Agile delivery.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with IT teams, business stakeholders and senior management.
- Qualifications: List the professional / academic qualifications required for the role.
- ITIL Foundation Level qualification a distinct advantage.
- Professional Project Management and/or business analysis qualifications would be an advantage.
- Minimum first-level degree (or equivalent) expected, although practical experience is of greater importance.
- Ability to learn and apply new technologies where needed.
