Accounting Manager

Trenkwalder for it's client is seeking :

Accounting Manager to join Finance Department.

Accounting Manager in this position, amongst others, shall manage the statutory books & statutory reporting of the aforementioned entities. He or she will be the first point of reference to secure a solid accounting environment, ensuring all controls are operating effectively and financial transactions are recorded accurately.

• Prepare and provide accurate, timely and comprehensive statutory financial reporting (financial statements under IFRS, tax returns and required regulatory returns), internally and externally.
• Oversee accounting procedures, financial transactions and secure integrity of financial data on the chosen IT platform for our Company for its affiliates.
• Supervise the external audit process and effectively manage the accounting teams across multiple jurisdictions where applicable.
• Implement and monitor the Company’s accounting policies and procedures, incorporating both accounting policies and internal procedural controls
• Αnalyze tax implications and generate strategies, collaborating with various departments, to reduce the effective tax rate of the Company or mitigate tax risks
• Implements myDATA requirements.
• Work with partners and third parties to provide internal guidance on issues arising from accounting & tax laws and treatment of judgmental areas.
• Lead a team of accounting professionals, actively focus on their development, coaching and managing performance.
• Monitor and interpret key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure financial performance targets are met.
• Provides technical expertise and advice on accounting issues to the team, help them develop and understand financial reports and manage their financial responsibilities.
• Communicate with Group Accounting
• Develop and maintain budget process, financial models to assist in strategic planning and evaluation of business initiatives.

The successful candidate for this job opening, must identify with the following criteria:

Academic Qualifications:

• BSc in Finance & Accounting, or in a relevant area of study, is a must.
• Ideally, a Post Graduate degree in Finance or MBA.
• Certified Accountant - Class A signature rights.
• Relevant certifications (ie ACCA/CIMA) will be highly appreciated.
• Excellent command of the Greek and English language.

Professional Experience:

• About 8-10 years of professional experience in accounting, with about 4 years in a managerial position.
• Excellent knowledge of IFRS and financial statements.
• Excellent knowledge of Greek Tax legislation.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting procedures and financial reporting practices.
• Solid knowledge of financial ERP systems - SAP.
• Experience in working within a fast paced, retail business environment.
• Proficiency in MS Excel.
