Research Analyst

Caretta Research
Πλήρης απασχόληση
Αθήνα

Job description

Caretta Research is expanding fast and looking for new team members in Athens, Greece. Our analysts collect data by researching for market and company information on the internet and by conducting professional B2B interviews with companies in the media and technology industry. Candidates should have a proven passion for analysis, consulting and research, an active interest in the media or technology industry, and a desire to become an expert analyst, consultant and strategic adviser.

We're an innovative startup focused on media, sports and technology research (topics like TV and streaming, live production, apps, ad tech, sports rights, AI and smart home). Our clients include some of the biggest technology suppliers and large broadcasters, platforms and media companies. This is an opportunity to develop a career to become a well-regarded expert analyst in a global industry.

Initial tasks are likely to include: researching technology suppliers and products in defined sectors of the media tech industry, connecting with technology suppliers and users, conducting interviews to gather information, extensive desk research, gathering and analysing data and building models in Excel/Google Sheets. Some data querying and database skills such as PHP, Python and SQL would be a bonus but not vital, and we can also (occasionally) use your creative skills (Adobe CC). It's a great role for someone wanting to develop a longer-term high-profile position.

The ideal candidate will conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis across various projects to optimise company growth and business. You will input data, manipulate datasets, and summarise findings in a succinct manner for client's usage.

Responsibilities

  • Input and manage data
  • Compile data into actionable reports, presentations and consultancy deliverables
  • Work independently, remotely and over collaborative tools (shared files, chat, mail)
  • Conduct online video interviews, primary and secondary research
  • Learn to present to clients
  • Prepare pitch and presentation materials
  • Be involved in the wider strategy and development of the business
  • Be willing and able to travel internationally

Requirements

  • This is a varied role across numerical, written and soft skills (interviews, presenting) so transferable skills and interest are critical. We're looking for proven qualitative and quantitative skills all mixed together.
  • Good undergraduate / Bachelor's degree (higher than 7/10 in Greece, 2.1 in UK) or Masters degree with clear transferable skills - applicable degrees from a wide range of disciplines.
  • Ideally a few years of experience working with data or in a consulting, marketing or strategy role.
  • We really value day-to-day work experience whether in the hospitality/service industry or in an office environment.
  • Fluent in English is a must. Other languages are a plus.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Fluency in business tools such as Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) or Google Workspace (Sheets, Slides, Docs etc).
  • Any additional skills around programming (PHP, Python), databases (SQL), business analytics tools (Looker, Power BI, Tableau) or creative tools (Adobe Creative Cloud; InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) could be useful.

Important: please note you must have existing EU residency or the right to work in the EU as we are unable to sponsor work permits. If you are not currently based near Athens, please explain in your application why you wish to relocate.

Our process for this application involves:

  1. An application form and CV (must be in English).
  2. Three quick video questions.
  3. An initial interview with the hiring manager.
  4. A set of tests relevant to this role.
  5. A presentation of the findings and outcomes from the tests to the team at Caretta Research.

We aim to get successful candidates through the process within about 2-3 weeks.

Benefits

  • €900-1,200 net (14 salaries) depending on experience.
  • Working in an exciting international industry, dealing with the world’s leading media and entertainment companies and their technology providers
  • Working with a great international team with a flexible, non-bureaucratic work environment
  • Based in our brand-new office in Psiri, Athens
  • Optional private healthcare insurance and other benefits
  • Working with amazing people!
