Junior Shipping Performance & Safety Executive

Main Purpose:• Assist on the identification, technical feasibility, and implementation of measures to improve the efficiency of the Trafigura shipping owned fleet, including reduction of the emissions profile.• Record and monitor the total emissions of the Trafigura time charter and voyage charter fleet and report it accordingly to internal and external counterparties.• Be part of the safety performance management across the Trafigura T/C and Bareboat fleet and monitor safety across the fleet as appropriate.Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:

• Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture bachelor’s or equivalent degree.
• Marine and/or technical experience in shipping industry is welcomed. Expertise in performance metrics/analysis is required.
• Familiarity with GHG legislation and reporting principles e.g. GHG Protocol and GHG accounting principles e.g. Global Logistics Emissions Council framework

Competencies:

• Strong marine and technical skills accompanied with project management and team working attributes.
• Proficient in English
• Ability to build effective and collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, external customers and vendors to develop and operate sophisticated technology solutions for performance and optimization.
• Ability to understand and investigate all matters around safety in the shipping environment, including but not limited to incident (investigation, causes, actions and lessons) and high potential near miss reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support performance monitoring/optimisation vendors review and evaluation for owned and T/C fleet to enhance the environmental profile of the company.
• Assure data quality of TC and spot voyages and support the Group’s Shipping Projects with fuel and GHG performance reporting and analysis.
• Contribute towards relevant feasibility studies for new technologies that are intended to decrease the emissions of the companies owned and time charter fleet.
• Investigate energy efficiency measures to optimise fleet fuel consumption and GHG efficiency and suggest methods of reduction.
• Stay up to date with latest statutory and international regulatory framework and asses their impact on Trafigura’s fleet performance, emissions and commercial operations.
• Assist in the recording and review of the safety incidents and high potential near misses across the Trafigura bareboat fleet and ensure investigations and actions are satisfactory and completed; monitor safety incident reporting and performance of time-chartered fleet; share best practices across bareboat and time-chartered fleets.
