Located on the southwest coast of the Peloponnese, one of the most unspoiled and breath-taking landscapes in the Mediterranean, and 45 minutes’ drive from Kalamata International Airport.


The beachfront resort is part of the sustainable resort destination of Costa Navarino, a well-established tourism destination which includes 3 other resorts. It comprises of 99 suites and villas, all with outdoor terraces and sea views, along with seven restaurants and bars.


Scope of Position:


The Fitness Instructor / Personal Trainer is under the guidance of the Fitness Manager and provides personal assistance to any individual booking private training sessions.


Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Supports Mandarin Oriental’s philosophy and culture, using Guiding Principles and the Pillars of Legendary Quality Experiences daily to ensure Guest Satisfaction and the achievement of our Mission Statement.

  • Follows all Standards and Procedures as taught by legendary trainers and the Fitness Manager.

  • Conducts fitness & wellness classes in a professional manner and according to the Standard Operating Procedures of the department.

  • Is responsible for maintaining accurately the fitness classes and scheduled program, as well as for maintaining the cleanliness of the entire Fitness & Wellness areas.

  • Ensures that a high standard of service is maintained throughout the Fitness & Wellness department.

  • Organizes private and group classes, taking into consideration the guest needs & preferences.

  • Has good understanding of all Spa Wellness & recreation services offered.

  • Ensures that a high standard of service is maintained throughout the Fitness Centre.

  • Assists in the operations of all fitness center departments as required.

  • Assists in the smooth flow of the guest’s journey throughout the day.

  • Proactively assists all guests when necessary.

  • Conducts fitness assessments, personal training & classes.

  • Has knowledge of current fitness trends in the industry.

  • Attends all training courses as deemed necessary, and adheres to training as set down by the Fitness Manager.

  • Performs as a professional, with a friendly business attitude and conduct all duties and responsibilities as required by the position, or assigned by the Fitness Manager

  • Assists in the smooth flow of the guest’s journey throughout the day.

  • Performs any reasonable tasks requested by senior management.

  • Maintains inventory of equipment/props and foresees guest usage of what and when is needed – to coordinate ordering.

  • Offers advise within the realms of knowledge relating to any guest concerns.

  • Monitors effectiveness and popularity of Fitness programs – advising Fitness Manager of any necessary changes/additions etc.

  • Conducts colleague classes where appropriate.

  • Reports any equipment malfunctions or damage immediately to engineering department and records it in the Maintenance folder.

  • Maintains all equipment in good order.

  • Assists in all equipment cleaning and maintenance checks thoroughly and diligently according to daily Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Puts away all equipment left unattended by guests.


Qualifications / Experience:



  • EU Passport or valid Residence Permit is mandatory in order to work in Greece.

  • Good written and verbal level of the English language.

  • Personal Training certification and CPR certification.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in hospitality.
