Title : Senior Cyber Engineer

Base location : Athens-Koropi, Greece

We can offer a hybrid approach to office and remote working. We would expect 3 or 4 days per week as the standard days on Athens-Koropi site.

High level objectives of the position:

• Thales Hellas’ Cyber Team Leader & Mentor.
• Drive of Thales Hellas cyber lab’s growth though training & other cyber business offerings.
• Management of Cyber related R&D programs.
• Mix of cybersecurity expertise with Cyber software development skills.
  
  
  

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of cybersecurity solutions and services in complex environments.
• Conduct security assessments and vulnerability testing to identify and remediate security risks in systems and applications of external stakeholders.
• Design, implement, and maintain security controls, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and endpoint security solutions.
• Develop and maintain security automation tools and scripts to improve efficiency and effectiveness of cyber security.
• Management of EU- and National- funded Cyber R&D projects.
• Perform Cyber Security trainings (in various levels and profiles) and provide security guidance and recommendations to external stakeholders.
• Mentor junior security engineers and contribute to the overall growth of the Cyber security team.
• Manage people within your discipline and ensure their development (skills management, coaching, career development, mind-set), the adequacy with the expected needs (quality and quantity) at the right time and the allocation to the Bids and Projects.
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (Master's degree a plus).
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in a cybersecurity engineering or related role.
• Experience in scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, PHP, Perl, jQuery, Ajax, Shell).
• Experience in software development with strong coding skills in programming languages (Java, C++).
• Experience in implementation of Digital Twins.
• Experience in use of SOAR tools (Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response).
• Experience in preparation of technical research proposals.
• Knowledge of software—security information and event management (SIEM) products, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and intrusion prevention systems (IPS).
• Strong understanding of security best practices & industry standards and experience with security technologies.
• Proven experience in conducting security assessments and penetration testing.
• Strong leadership and multi-level communication skills, self-motivated with demonstrated problem-solving capability.
• Strong desire for continuous improvement and a capacity to develop a strategic vision: able to integrate and even anticipate the various elements of your environment in order to guide the team through the challenges prompted by competitiveness.
• Proficiency in the English language. Greek speaking will be desirable, but not mandatory.
