The Position

General Ledger Associate Accountant

Job Summary

Job Summary

The Shared Services Center was established in 2019 with the aim of centralizing the transactional accounting activities of 65 European Imerys entities. Within SSC there are three different streams, Accounts Payable, General Ledger Accounting and Accounts Receivable. General Ledger Accounting is primarily focused on Fixed Assets, Intercompany, General Accounting & Reporting and Treasury & Banking. We are excited to announce the need for new team members to join us in our GL Treasury & Banking.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Responsible for the daily cash management
  • Perform bank accounting entries and clearing of CIT accounts
  • Monitor suspense accounts and follow up the open items
  • Perform bank reconciliation between bank statements and GL
  • Other treasury related account posting & reconciliation (interest, hedging, loans, petty cash etc)
  • Performance of treasury month-end closing
  • Preparation of level 1 controls related to BS reconciliation according to the group policy
  • Validate adjustments in vendor master data
  • Assist with accounting projects
  • Support cash flow reporting
  • Audit support

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
  • 1-2 years of working experience in a relevant position, ideally in treasury department
  • Experience with ERPs (experience with SAP will be a plus).
  • Fluent in English
  • Conversant in French, German, Italian or any other European language is a plus
  • Experience of working within a culturally diverse global company
  • Having worked in a SSC environment would be a key asset
